APPLICATIONS
ON LAND
Journalists, media, mining companies, foreign service offices and international organizations can transmit large amounts of data between an urban base and remote sites with Inmarsat B High Speed Data (BHSD). It is a high-speed data communications service providing a duplex, 56/64 kbps data delivery via ISDN.
BHSD is multifaceted. It enables file transfer, video conferencing, multiplexing, high speed internet, audio broadcast and store-and- forward video.
AT
SEA
Cruise, merchant ships, oil exploration and production companies can conduct business as usual.
SAFETY (GMDSS)
The Inmarsat B system supports the Global Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) and is approved for use by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).
